About the Event
Tell me more:
This webinar is for those who want to explore the use of writing in therapy. It offers innovative ways of mapping, writing and reading out to develop a collaborative and creative partnership. We draw on Winnicott's notion of therapeutic play to explore and enrich how we use short, spontaneous writing within and between sessions. This not only enhances the reciprocal nature of the therapeutic connection, but also highlights the reciprocity between ourselves and our writing. 'My own words take me by surprise and teach me what to think' (Merleau-Ponty). Such writing can help us connect with the disavowed, unformulated or over inflated patterns of interaction that position us in the world. Drawing on years of teaching as CAT practitionears we use a selection of free verse exercises to heighten and loosen our relationship with writing to live and breathe the therapeutic process. .
