About the Event

This one-day workshop demonstrates, explains and gives space to try out ten key skills to help manage the essentials of a time-limited or longer term therapy. They seek to reconcile the goals of being effective, efficient, responsive and heartfelt.


Timetable for the day 9.30-11.00 (Session 1)- 30-minute break 11.30-1.00 (Session 2) Lunch 1hr break 2.00-3.15 (Session 3) 15-minute break 3.45 -4.30 (Session 4) and finish at 4.30


 The ten key skills are: 

1.   Staging and setting out: sharing intentions, agreeing roles, time and space. Showing, not telling, how the therapy might work. Introducing conversations with pen and paper and the three-way relationship between client, therapist and therapy relationship and activities.

2.   Tracking and recapping: Mapping, noting and formulating together as keywords go down on paper to establish a listening relationship and a co-operative 'dialogic' space.
